The coast around the Round House is a string of beaches, each with its own character and its own best hour. A short tuk-tuk is all that stands between you and the right stretch of sand.
Kabalana, for swimming
Kabalana — named one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful beaches by Vogue Paris — is a long, golden stretch ten minutes from the house. After the monsoon, the water calms into something gentle enough for the whole family.
Paradise Cove, for a day bed
If you’re after a beach club, Paradise Cove in Midigama is the best of them — day-bed hire, great food options and proper service, the kind of place a morning swim turns into a whole afternoon.
Harabadua, for the long walk
For a quieter escape, have your tuk-tuk drop you at one end of Harabadua Beach and walk the shoreline, ending at KK Beach for a well-earned refreshment. Your driver can wait to bring you home — seamless and stress-free.
Lovely as it looks, Harabadua is not a safe beach for swimming — enjoy the walk, and save the swim for Kabalana.
